Plastikos Wins Inaugural IQMS Manufacturing Success Award

An innovative project that demonstrated true leadership in the manufacturing industry has earned Erie, PA-based Plastikos, Inc. the first Manufacturing Success Award from IQMS, an ERP software and MES developer in Paso Robles, CA.

The award was created to recognize a manufacturing project exhibiting a commitment to industry success and business improvement. Plastikos created an automated production labeling and tool tracking process. By creating press label stations, implementing automated, real-time production reporting at the press and establishing automated tool tracking through barcode labels, Plastikos has improved product quality, decreased lead times, reduced internal scrap rates and improved customer service.

Other finalists for the award were Gill Industries, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI; Miniature Precision Components, Inc., Southfield, MI; Plastic Components, Inc., Germantown, WI; and Tessy Plastics Corporation, Elbridge, NY. The winner was announced at the IQMS User Group 2012 conference in Las Vegas, NV, on Oct. 16.
