Chem-Trend Expands Facility in China

Chem-Trend, a Howell, MI-based manufacturer of mold release agents and casting lubricants, together with Klüber Lubrication, part of the Freudenberg Chemical Specialties business group, is investing in a major site-expansion project at its Qingpu facility in China.

The expansion includes a new research and development center, training and administration facilities, an extended warehouse and additional bulk storage provisions. There also is a plan to increase capacity at the manufacturing facility. The more than $24 million project is expected to take three years and will give the Qingpu site an 16-acre footprint.
